Australia is the Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council. TDT
Australia aims to ensure the availability of suitable training / skills
development arrangements to meet the skill needs of all sectors of the
Transport and Logistics Industry, namely: Road Transport, Warehousing,
Rail Operations & Rail Infrastructure, Stevedoring, Logistics Management,
Maritime and Aviation. TDT
Australia aims to enhance the long-term employability of individuals in
the industry and to maximise access and equity in training opportunities.
TDT Australia
also aims to increase industry's ownership and investment in training
while maximising access to public vocational education and training. |

Formed in
2004, The Transport and Logistics Centre (TALC) is a Commonwealth and
NSW Government initiative aimed at building capability in the Transport
and Logistics (T&L) industry, including road, rail, maritime, aviation
and logistics.
Building capability refers
to creating a capacity in the T&L sector to analyse the present business
environment, develop future business strategies, provide the knowledge
and systems to support the strategies and generally have the best combination
of people, processes and innovation to be world's best at what we do.

In 1990,
the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries, the Motor Trades Association
of Australia and the Australian Council of Trade Unions approached the
Australian Government to form a nation Industry Training Advisory Body
(ITAB) that would oversee the formulation of nationally consistent, high
quality training for the automotive industry.
Today, Automotive Training
Australia (ATA) is an established ITAB that actively represents all sectors
of the industry and works to ensure that formal, accredited training meets
industry needs, facilitating the training of a highly skilled workforce
consistently able to meet the professional, production, service and competitive
practice needs of the Australian Automotive Industry.
